I am actually really pleased with the Storm. It is a much better device than I expected it to be, post-service packs. I had read an awful lot of people talking about how it was awful online, but it turns out to do pretty much everything I want. It's a bit quirky and weird but my requirements for a phone are actually pretty low.

I should mention, though, that I cannot, for the life of me, get the damn camera working. Or PocketMac.

Thank you for this review, Em - it's exactly what I was looking for! My phone is up for an upgrade in three months and I'm eyeing one of these as a replacement (I have the 8830 World at the moment).

Two thoughts: RIM is usually pretty good about replacing phones that are damaged through use (re: the clickscreen's longevity); and if RIM won't, the Verizon insurance will. Also, on the 8830 World, at least, you can reprogram the "function button" - the one that currently activates voice-activated dialing - to do pretty much whatever you want. I have mine set to bring up my Address Book, which is pretty innocuous.
