Work is killing me today so to lift my spirits (and the spirits of all) I offer the Daily Katie Rose. On another thought, I am somewhat tempted to start up a blog thread just on “stuff Katie says.” The popular one today is: PROTONS ARE CUTE! IT’S SO FLUFFY! Share:

Reading she has down cold. Basic sentence structure, sure. Spelling not so much. So we’re spending hours with her asking me to spell words and then

A few of us are playing Echo Bazaar, a cute web-based card and social grind game. Most of the gameplay is spent grinding up stats ala Kingdom of Loathing but it has some interesting small arc-like plots and a large story-arc “Ambition” for the character to reach new levels and “do” something. Attention K-Mart Shoppers! We will officially be attending PAX East in Boston! We are leaving on the evening of the 25th and arriving on the 26th at the hotel adjoining the convention center and then leaving on the morning of the 29th. I have already spoken to a few of you about our possible arrival but

Chicken Cha Cha Cha (This is a new one, but we got it for my nephew and it was well received)
There is apparently a Carcasonne for kids, and I can see no way that is not awesome.
Hungry Hungry Hippos
Funagain.com has a whole kids section broken down by ages, so if you want to experiment with wacky german games, lots of options there too.
